Xenofon - American Barley Wine 22
It is well known that beer was brewed as far back as antiquity, and ancient Greece was no exception. While Aischylos speaks of “mead from barley,” Xenofon in his Anabasis has soldiers drinking “barley wine.” Today, the term refers to a beer style. Barley Wine Xenofon is a semi-dark, sparkling beer with a powerful malt aroma and lighter hop notes. In its flavour you can find biscuits, caramel, milk chocolate and candied fruit. The hops bring not only bitterness, but also spiciness and a hint of mint. Let yourself be surprised by how such a broad palette of flavours and aromas affects you. When Aleš Dvořák from Budvar stopped by, he picked up rosehip sauce in this beer.
