Single Hop Saaz Ale 14 - Saturn

Žatec hops in a completely different form from the Hop Research Institute. The new variety 5227 gives the beer aromas of citrus peel, blackcurrant and wood. And the aroma of SaazAle.cz #2 is truly intense — we did not hold back on the hops. It is hopped like an AIPA and a NEIPA combined. We split more than 40 kg of hops between the kettle, whirlpool, fermentation and conditioning. The flavour is also distinctly hop-forward: fruity, spicy, woody and very earthy, leaning toward English bitters. Hop 5227 is unusual in its ratio of alpha to beta bitter acids (1.7% : 7%), which gives the beer a high yet very soft bitterness. The beer is highly aromatic, full in flavour, fruitily fresh and at the same time earthy. And bitter.
