Mimosa Velvet Single Hop Saaz Ale 14

Saaz hops in a completely new guise from the Hop Research Institute. The new 5227 variety gives the beer aromas of citrus peel, blackcurrant and wood. And the aroma of SaazAle.cz #2 is truly intense—we did not hold back on the hops. It is hopped like an AIPA and a NEIPA combined. Over 40 kg of hops were added across the boil, whirlpool, fermentation and conditioning. The flavour is boldly hoppy, fruity, spicy, woody and distinctly earthy, leaning toward English bitters. The 5227 hop has an unusual alpha-to-beta acid ratio of 1.7% to 7%, giving the beer a high yet very soft bitterness. It is highly aromatic, full in flavour, fruity-fresh and earthy at the same time. And bitter.
